The George Q. Cannon Principle

George Q. Cannon
...
I suppose each one of us is fond of having his own way. I know I am. I am willing to confess that I like to have my own way. But I do not like my own way well enough to want it in opposition to my brethren's way...All who preside should act in unity. The Presidents of Stakes and their counselors, the Bishops and their counselors and all who act in presiding positions should be united. It is our duty as the First Presidency of the Church to seek for this spirit of union for which the Savior prayed, and to be one; to bring our feelings in subjection, and when two agree on a thing and the third cannot see it, let him say, "I am going with you. No feeling that enters into my heart shall stand between you and me."
Suppose that one man has more wisdom than another; it is better to carry out a plan that is not so wise, if you are united on it. Speaking generally, a plan or a policy that may be inferior in some respects is more effective if men are united upon it than a better plan would be upon which they were divided.

(George Q. Cannon, Gospel Truth, pp. 206-7)

Senior Power in Bad Bentheim - Elder/Sister Smith

After the Zone Leader Council we visited Bad Bentheim with E/S Smith.
"And now to you mature brothers and sisters: we need many, many more senior couples. To the faithful couples now serving or who have served in the past, we thank you for your faith and devotion to the gospel of Jesus Christ. You serve willingly and well and accomplish great good.
To those of you who are not yet to the season of life when you might serve a couples mission, I urge you to prepare now for the day when you and your spouse might do so. As your circumstances allow, as you are eligible for retirement, and as your health permits, make yourselves available to leave home and give full-time missionary service. There are few times in your lives when you will enjoy the sweet spirit and satisfaction that come from giving full-time service together in the work of the Master." [President Thomas S. Monson, GC, October 2010]

Zone Leader Council Hannover with Sister Power - July 2012

Elder John Taylor overheard someone ask the Prophet Joseph Smith how he could govern so many people so well.
The Prophet replied, "I teach them correct principles and they govern themselves."

Visit of the 1975-Dedicatory Prayer Place in Radebeul

When President Thomas S. Monson blessed East Germany in his Dedicatory Prayer in 1975 many promises were given. Soon many were fulfilled but the fulfillment goes on. Today we've been there - together with my Assistants - in Radebeul, near Dresden - overlooking the Elbe river.

In midst of thunderstorms around us there was this little spot of light and warmth!
